1987 Ninth in the series by Tadd Johnson. As a native of Albuquerque who watched the Fiesta grow from a few balloons to an event of international stature, Johnson wanted to portray the event from the local point of view. His "triptych" (three-paneled image) shows how his neighbors respond when the balloons start flying. His marvelously friendly people climb a grassy hill and gaze upwards toting everything from children to binoculars as they chase the colorful orbs overhead. Published as a limited-edition serigraph in an artist-signed edition of 750 numbered prints plus an unsigned edition of 5,000 numbered prints. 36" x 18". Click on poster image for current value. |
